two indoor Player Development Schools during the winter.
The MetroStars Winter Program consists of Player Development Schools at two separate indoor locations in Union County, N.J. The locations include RexPlex, in Elizabeth, N.J., and Soccer Palace, in Westfield, N.J. The schools begin in late January 2005 and will consist of six weekly 90-minute training sessions conducted by the MetroStars Player Development Staff. In total, players will receive 540 minutes of intense training.
The RexPlex School starts on Jan. 25, and will take place on Tuesday nights. Session One is for 8 and 9 year olds and runs from 5-6:30 p.m. Session Two is for 10-12 year olds and is from 6:30-8 p.m.
The Soccer Palace School starts on Jan. 29, and will take place on Saturday mornings. Session One is for 8 and 9 year olds and runs from 9-10:30 a.m. Session Two is for 10-12 year olds and is from 10:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.
The schools are open to boys and girls 8-12 years old. Each session is limited to just 24 players and will have a player to coach ratio of 12:1.
Players will be grouped with other participants of similar age and skill level to maximize his/her abilities and ensure in depth attention from specific coaches. The Player Development School will offer children the structured and progressive training that's required to play at the next level.
The MetroStars recognize the importance of off-season training and encourage young players to get involved with one of the most instructive and informational youth soccer programs in the Tri-State area. The program curriculum has been designed by MetroStars Player Development Staff to provide structured training for soccer players in the difficult training months of the winter. There is no better way to improve your child's skills this off-season.
