Metros vs. Rough Riders postponed

SECAUCUS, N.J. - The MetroStars announced today that their game previously scheduled for April 9, against the Long Island Rough Riders at Mitchel Field has been postponed. The reason for the postponement is linked to a delay in Mitchel Field's availability due to the inclement winter weather the area has experienced over the past few months. The MetroStars and Rough Riders are working together to reschedule the match, and details regarding the new date will be forthcoming from both clubs in the near future.

The MetroStars will begin MLS competition on April 2, when they host MLS expansion team Real Salt Lake at Giants Stadium at 7:00 p.m. ET (TV: MSG, RADIO: WADO 1280 AM). The game will mark the return of former Metros Clint Mathis and Eddie Pope to Giants Stadium.
