L.A. Galaxy and Budweiser join forces in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Night at The Home Depot Center

CARSON, CA - The Los Angeles Galaxy will be joining forces with Budweiser to present Hispanic Heritage Night on Saturday, June 11 in conjunction with the club's 7 pm match with Western Conference foe Real Salt Lake at The Home Depot Center.

"It gives our club great pleasure to once again present a full lineup of Hispanic Heritage Night activities for all of our fans," said Galaxy President and General Manager Doug Hamilton. "Our fans have contributed greatly to our success through the years and will have the opportunity to enjoy much of the food and culture of our Hispanic supporters on this special night."

The Galaxy will give all fans attending the Real Salt Lake match the chance to experience a taste of Latin America, its various foods and cultures, especially in the hours leading up to the match. Additionally, fans that bring a flag from either Mexico, a Central or South American nation to the match, receive $5 off the regular ticket price.

Kicking off festivities at 5:30 pm is job recruitment fair in the main plaza of the stadium. The Galaxy will also be hosting a variety of local musical performers who specialize in differing types of Latin American music in the main plaza of the stadium.

While the various groups are playing, fans will have the opportunity to purchase several traditional Latin American delicacies, including: black bean and rice bowls (Costa Rica), empanadas (Guatemala), pupusas (El Salvador), tacos with Carne Asada (Mexico) and others, celebrating several of the unique traditions of that region.

At halftime of the match against Real Salt Lake, the Galaxy will honor Rafael "Felo" Ramirez, a long-time journalist and broadcaster, who passed away on April 30 in Norwalk, California.

The native of Costa Rica spent the final 50 years of his life deeply involved in the sport of soccer, the last twenty-plus in Southern California after founding the popular radio show "Hablando de Deportes." The show was one of the first Spanish-language sports radio talk show in the United States when Ramirez launched it in 1984 and has continued to grow each year - and has spawned programs of the same name in several markets throughout the country.

Felo also covered Major League Soccer, especially the Galaxy, since the inception of the League in 1996. In recent years, he served as a commentator for several MLS and other leagues' games as well as other sports on Fox Sports World en Español and Fox Sports Latin America in addition to writing for his own weekly publication, Exito Deportivo.

The Los Angeles Galaxy of Major League Soccer will host a majestic fireworks spectacular (presented by The Daily Breeze) after their match on the Fourth of July against the New England Revolution at The Home Depot Center on the Campus of California State University, Dominguez Hills. As was the case the last two years when the Galaxy also hosted post-game fireworks shows at The Home Depot Center, Rialto-based Pyro Spectaculars will be responsible for the production.
