Chivas USA are teaming with Tigres del Norte and the United Farm Workers.

CARSON, Calif. - Chivas USA's inaugural season in Major League Soccer will come to a spectacular close on October 16, with an exclusive postgame performance by the kings of Mexican regional music, Grammy-winning artists Los Tigres del Norte. Dubbed 'La Celebración del Pueblo' (Celebration of the People), the performance will follow Chivas USA's 2005 MLS regular-season closer against the MetroStars, which kicks off at 1:00 p.m. PT. A portion of the proceeds from the event will go to the United Farm Workers.

"We strive to offer Chivas USA's fans not only the most entertaining soccer experience, but also great value for their entertainment dollar. We are therefore proud to bring the kings of Mexican regional music, Los Tigres del Norte, to The Home Depot Center, and to be doing it for a good cause, the United Farm Workers, a group that shares the vision and values of Chivas USA," said Chivas USA Senior Vice President and General Manager Whit Haskel.

A percentage of the proceeds from the match will be given to the United Farm Workers (UFW), the farm workers' rights organization founded by César Chávez. This month the UFW will mark the 40th anniversary of the 1965 Delano Grape Strike.

"We are proud of this alliance between Los Tigres del Norte and Chivas USA, two great names in music and sports," said Arturo Rodríguez, president of the UFW. "We hope that the event on October 16 will be just the beginning of a close collaborative relationship between these two organizations."
