CHICAGO - As the Chicago Fire prepares for its final season at historic Soldier Field, the club has announced that its season ticket renewal campaign for the 2005 MLS season is starting off as the most successful in the team's eight-year history. Season ticket renewals are up 25% from this point last year as more fans are looking to claim their seats for the Fire's last season at Soldier Field, where the club has played from 1998-2001 and from the fall of 2003 through next year. Fans that have already purchased their seats for the Fire's last year at Soldier Field will not only have the pick of the best seats at the landmark lakefront venue, but will also have the opportunity to be the first in line to choose their seats at the Fire's 20,000-seat, world-class stadium opening in Bridgeview in the Spring of 2006.
"Fire fans are excited about getting our new stadium in Bridgeview in 2006, but the interest shown in next season also proves they are looking forward to the upcoming 2005 schedule at Soldier Field," said Fire Director of Ticket Sales Vince Formanek.
The Fire continues to promote its "2006 Waiting List" program, a sales initiative for soccer fans interested in purchasing some of the first seats at the new venue. For a $50 seat deposit, fans will be placed on a waiting list after current season ticket holders and have the opportunity to purchase full and partial ticket plans. Some added benefits of being placed on the Fire's "Waiting List" include a tour of the stadium before its grand opening, discounted merchandise and invitations to special events.
