Fire 3, Real Salt Lake 0 -- quote sheet

CHICAGO FIRE 3, REAL SALT LAKE 0

REAL SALT LAKE HEAD COACH JOHN ELLINGER

Overall feelings about the game:
"We come out and gave a goal up early in the game. That has got to stop. It is getting old and I think the players know that. We lose our focus at moments in the game and give up easy goals."

On offensive play:
"We get up to the final third of the field and then it just shuts down. We did create some chances, but our finishes were poor. We have to make a better final pass to give us better chances at goal."

On the last 30 minutes of the game:
"With Seth Trembly and Dipsy Selolwane, you know what they bring. Dipsy brings pace and Seth is Seth, he brings it every game. Before he (Seth) went in he said, 'Do you want me to get two or three?' It's hard not to love a guy like that."

On playing on grass:
"It is what it is; they are all used to playing on grass. It is in their heads and they have to get it out and the only way to do that is to win one."

On playing at home:
"The crowd was great as always. Our inability to put some chances away and we are digging a hole for ourselves by giving up the early goal."

REAL SALT LAKE DEFENDER RUSTY PIERCE

On playing at home:
"It's good to be at home and win, but it is equally important to get points on the road."

REAL SALT LAKE MIDFIELDER TIGER FITZPATRICK

On the game:
"We got to lift our heads and go on from here. It's a tough loss and we are better than we showed tonight."

REAL SALT LAKE DEFENDER MATT BEHNCKE

On the game:
"Going into this game, we thought this is our home, whether it is grass or turf. We were going to do everything we could to get three points and it just didn't work out that way."

CHICAGO FORE HEAD COACH DAVE SARACHAN

On the first goal:
"That was very important to set the tone. We felt by getting the first goal it allowed some more space and time."

On the overall performance:
"I thought overall, over 90 minutes, the concentration, the movement and communication was quite good tonight. It was a big three points on the road."

CHICAGO FIRE MIDFIELDER CHRIS ARMAS

On offensive play:
"We've played good enough at times to get three goals and haven't gotten it. I thought we could have had a couple more."

"We made an honest effort to move the ball, to play the ball fast and make it hard for their key guys."

CHICAGO FIRE GOALKEEPER ZACH THORNTON

On Chris Armas's goal:
"He buried it, that's all. He just buried it. He saw it and he rammed it down their throat."

On the defense:
"The guys did a great job. They worked hard for me tonight and I didn't have to work hard at all. The guys in front of me deserved the shutout tonight."
