DALLAS - FC Dallas President and General Manager Michael Hitchcock, along with Kansas City Wizards General Manager Curt Johnson and Oklahoma Soccer Marketing announced today the formation of the inaugural Saturn Challenge Cup - Oklahoma City. This soon to be annual event, which will be sponsored by Saturn, will feature FC Dallas taking on the Kansas City Wizards on Saturday, March 25 in Moore, Okla. The match, will kickoff at 7:35 p.m. at Moore Stadium in Moore, Oklahoma, a city of 45,000 located 20 minutes South of Oklahoma City. This will be the final preseason match of 2006 for the Hoops who open the season at home on April 1.
"The Saturn Challenge Cup - Oklahoma City against our MLS rival, the Kansas City Wizards, is a key preparation match for the 2006 MLS season," Hitchcock said. "It's a great opportunity to showcase two of Major League Soccer's top teams to a booming soccer market. We look forward to seeing all Oklahoma soccer fans wearing red and white on March 25, supporting your MLS team, FC Dallas."
This will be the Hoops first trip to the state of Oklahoma since the April 5, 2003 season when they played the Wizards at Skelly Stadium on the campus of the University of Tulsa.
