FC Dallas signs John Pulido to developmental contract

FC Dallas President and General Manager Greg Elliott announced today that the club has signed midfielder/defender John Pulido to a developmental contract for the 2005 season. Prior to the signing, FC Dallas acquired the rights to Pulido from the Colorado Rapids in exchange for a 2006 MLS Supplemental Draft fourth round selection.

Pulido, 23, was selected in the fourth round of the 2004 MLS SuperDraft by the Colorado Rapids. He played with the Boulder Rapids of the Premier Developmental League (PDL) in 2004, helping his team reach the finals. Pulido also attended Florida International University from 2000-2003. He started his final two years at Florida International, making All-Conference both years and selected as an All-American Second Team honoree in 2003.

Pulido joins one of the club's 10 Developmental Roster spots. Formerly consisting of six players last season, the Developmental roster has been expanded to 10 spots in 2005 with the start of the reserve division this year. Pulido has appeared in four matches with the FC Dallas reserve team, accumulating a total of 279 minutes.
