FC Dallas partners with Radio AYO 1540 AM as Spanish language station for 2005 season

DALLAS - FC Dallas President and General Manager Greg Elliott announced today that Radio AYO 1540 AM (KZMP) will be the Spanish language voice for the team in 2005.


"We are ecstatic to have a partnership with a station that is clearly dedicated to helping us spread the word about the sport of soccer," said Elliott. "In addition to broadcasting all our matches, we look forward to the weekly show that will feature FC Dallas players, coaches and other guests from around the soccer world."


Radio AYO 1540 AM will broadcast all 32 regular matches as well as playoff matches during the 2005 Major League Soccer season. Additionally, Radio AYO will feature an hour-long FC Dallas soccer show every Tuesday evening from 6 - 7 p.m. for 32 consecutive weeks.


"We are excited with the new relationship with FC Dallas and Radio AYO and enthused of the opportunity to provide the most popular and favorite sport to our listeners," said President of Radio AYO Jesus Roberto Orellana.


Carlos Alvarado and Jesus Padilla will return to the broadcast booth for the 10th year with Alvarado providing play-by-play and Padilla as the color analyst. The Spanish voices of FC Dallas will also host the weekly soccer show ("Esta Semana con el FC Dallas" or "This Week with FC Dallas"). The show will air every Tuesday from 6 - 7 p.m.


In addition to broadcasting the matches and the shows, Padilla and Xavier Olalde will host a sports radio show (Impacto Deportivo) on Radio AYO every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 6 - 7 p.m.
