FC Dallas midfielder Ramon Nuñez called to the Honduran U-20 national team

Dallas, Texas - FC Dallas midfielder Ramon Nuñez was informed earlier this week by the Honduran Soccer Federation that he has been selected to the U-20 Honduran National Team. Nuñez will travel to Honduras on January 14th, where he will join his National Team as it begins its journey toward the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship in Holland this summer.

FC Dallas already signed a letter that allows Ramon to travel to Honduras and take part on this tournament. "I am extremely proud and excited. We are in a very difficult group, but the team is well prepared and ready to meet the high expectations," said Nuñez.
"I think this is great for Ramon. This is great recognition for him and I know they'll get some good games when he is out there. It will only be helping his development process. With regards to him missing time with FC Dallas, he shouldn't miss anytime at all. He's going to come back the day we will report, which might make him miss our introductory meetings and physicals, but he won't miss any significant time with us", said FC Dallas Coach Colin Clarke.
The U-20 CONCACAF Qualifying Tournament being held in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, begins on January 26th and goes thru the 30th. Honduras will have to fight for one of two tickets (top 2 teams advance) with Canada, Jamaica and Mexico.
Nuñez, who will play with his National Team for the first time, appeared in 8 matches with FC Dallas last season. He was acquired by Dallas in the first round of the 2004 MLS Superdraft with the 6th overall selection. Nuñez will be back in Dallas on January 31st, ready to start the preseason with his club.
