The score stayed that way until Abe Thompson found Carey Talley along the right sideline. In the 89th minute, Colorado midfielder Terry Cooke headed a ball that ended up to be the game winner for FC Dallas. Cooke tried to clear a swinging corner kick by Richard Mulrooney away from the Rapids goal, but instead headed the ball past Cannon and into the back of the net.
