Earthquakes head coach Dominic Kinnear helps out Milipitas coaches

The San Jose Earthquakes head coach, Dominic Kinnear, helped conduct a special soccer clinic on Sunday, June 6 at the Milipitas Sports Clinic for coaches from the Milipitas Youth Soccer Club (MYSC) and the North Valley Youth Soccer Club (NVYSC).

Both soccer clubs are partners with the Earthquakes in the "Student of the Game" program. As members of the Quakes program, every registered player in the MYSC and NVYSC receives a ticket to an Earthquakes game, five Quakes players' appearances at the club, two coaching clinics by the San Jose coaching staff and one coaches clinic at Spartan Stadium.

Kinnear, who grew up in nearby Fremont and has experience playing professionally in the United States, Mexico and for the U.S. National Team worked with the coaches as they went through offensive and defensive drills with members of the MLS Coaching Camps coaching staff.

Following the drills, the coaches had a question and answer session with Kinnear, who is in his first season coaching the defending Major League Soccer Champion Earthquakes. Kinnear served as the Quakes assistant coach for three seasons before taking over as the headman.

"It was great to work with the coaches from Milipitas," Kinnear said." I would like to thank everyone for making it a good clinic. I think events like this really help to grow the game at the grass-roots level, and that is important."
