Development schools grow new talent

Here's your chance to become a member of the best youth club in the Tri-State Area.

Following a very successful first winter season, the MetroStars Regional Development Schools continue to be a great asset for players seeking advanced level training.

Over 100 boys and girls are currently part of the Development School program, hosted at four indoor training locations in the Tri-State Area. Some of the best players at these locations have also made their way onto the MetroStars Academy team rosters. Following the U-16 team's victory in the Super Y League National Finals, the MetroStars Academy teams were recently recognized as the top boys teams in North America.

As the schools move into their second season, players will continue to progress through phase two of the curriculum. Players that show exceptional skills and attitude will be invited to represent the MetroStars on a winter school tournament team.

Season two begins the week of Jan. 16, with courses being offered at The Centre Circle (Rahway, N.J.), CT Sports Center (New Milford, Conn.) and The Hudson Valley Indoor Sports Center (Milton, N.Y.). The schools are limited to competitive and elite level boys and girls, ages 8 to 14, and each group is strictly limited to 12 players. After a sold-out first season, a limited number of places remain for these schools.

As an added bonus, the MetroStars are offering a one-time free skills clinic on Jan. 8, 2006, at the Hudson Valley Indoor Sports Center, located in Milton, N.Y.
