Dallas Burn 0, Columbus Crew 0 -- quotes

MAJOR LEAGUE SOCCER QUOTE SHEET
SATURDAY, MAY 1, 2004 - DALLAS BURN 0, COLUMBUS CREW 0

COLUMBUS CREW HEAD COACH GREG ANDRULIS

On the game:
"I am disappointed but not down. The glass is half full. The rain changes the game. It is

harder to play in that. Our guys battled hard. You have to look at the positives and give

credit to the goalkeepers. We were very dangerous offensively. The goals will come."

COLUMBUS CREW GOALKEEPER JON BUSCH

On having two balls hit the woodwork:
"Sometimes you wake up and the birds are chirping. You need a little luck. Those balls have

been going in against us."

COLUMBUS CREW MIDFIELDER SIMON ELLIOTT

On the game:
"I thought we played well. The worst thing that happened was halftime; it ruined our rhythm.

Then the skies opened up and made it tough to play. I'm disappointed we didn't get the win.

We've got to take the glass is half full attitude, but at the same time you have to win at

home."

COLUMBUS CREW FORWARD EDSON BUDDLE

On the team's goal-scoring difficulties:
"It's a drought. We have 26 games left. We are going to go back and work hard in practice

this week. The goals will come."

DALLAS BURN HEAD COACH COLIN CLARKE

On the game:
"I'm awfully pleased to get the point on the road. I thought we could have gotten more and am

a little disappointed not to get the full three. We had the chance at the end of the first

half, the header that to me looked like a hand ball and then the one in the second half that hits off of the post. I

thought we dominated, particularly when the storm hit and we had a nice wind at our back.

Overall, very happy, another clean sheet and still unbeaten but we're a bit disappointed as well."

On the two near goals:
"I've never seen two plays that close in one game. It didn't look like either one of them went

in but the first one definitely looked like a hand ball and it seemed pretty straightforward."

On the play of Scott Garlick:
"I know Scotty will be the first one to say it - there's 10 people in front of him working

very, very hard. We threw bodies in front of some balls tonight. We've got a couple of guys

in there with some gashes and black eyes. That was a hard-fought contest and Scott came up

with some big saves."

DALLAS BURN DEFENDER CHRIS GBANDI

On the result:
"I think we look at it as a point gained but also a little bit unlucky with two shots being

saved off of the goal line but anytime you get a point on the road it's a good thing. And we're

still unbeaten so we're a little bit excited but also a little disappointed.

On how he felt in his first match back from off-season surgery:
"I struggled a little bit early to get my timing and get into the pace of the game but once I

did that everything was all right. I was just trying to pick and choose when to attack and

when not to attack and I think I did a good job picking that."

DALLAS BURN GOALKEEPER SCOTT GARLICK

On his team's effort:
"Coach has done a good job making sure we know and understand what's going on here and realize

that we play for each other and that we work as a unit. When we do those things good things

happen. I thought we had arguably the better of the chances in both halves so that's a good

reflection on us as a team."
