Club Deportivo Chivas USA to pick future stars this Friday in the 2005 MLS SuperDraft

CARSON, Calif. - Club Deportivo Chivas USA will select its latest crop of talented young players this Friday, January 14 in the 2005 MLS SuperDraft presented by adidas. The four-round draft, in which the 12 Major League Soccer clubs will pick from a group of nearly 100 footballers between 16 and 25 years old, will take place from 9:00 a.m. PT at the Baltimore Convention Center and will be streamed live on www.CDCHIVASUSA.com. As an expansion team, Chivas USA holds the second pick in each round, being picks number 2, 14, 26 and 38 overall in the 48-pick draft.


"We already have a good idea of what we accomplished in the Expansion Draft and of the players that we're getting from Mexico ," said Thomas Rongen, Head Coach of Major League Soccer's new Mexican-owned expansion franchise, in an exclusive interview with www.CDCHIVASUSA.com. "Our goal in the SuperDraft is to find the best athlete available, and also address some specific needs."
