CARSON, Calif. - Club Deportivo Chivas USA announced Tuesday the team's schedule for the week of February 15-20. After their first training session in Southern California on Tuesday afternoon, Head Coach Thomas Rongen's squad now await the arrival Wednesday evening of their eight teammates from Club Guadalajara. The current roster will be officially presented to the press Thursday morning and the team is set to train in two-a-day sessions Thursday and Friday before facing UCLA in a scrimmage on Saturday.
Ramón Ramírez, Alonso Sandoval, Isaac Romo, Martín Zúñiga, Alfonso Loera,
Armando Begines, Héctor Cuadros and Francisco Mendoza are to arrive
Wednesday at Los Angeles International Airport, accompanied by Chivas USA
officials, including Assistant Coach Javier "Zully" Ledesma.
All will be on hand Thursday morning at The Home Depot Center's Stadium Club
to be received by Antonio Cué and Whit Haskel (President and Co-Owner, and
Senior Vice President and General Manager, respectively, of Club Deportivo
Chivas USA) in an official presentation of the team to the media. Coach
Rongen's men will train twice daily on both Thursday and Friday, before
closing the week with a friendly match on Saturday against UCLA, alma mater
of Chivas USA players Matt Taylor and Aarón López.
