CHICAGO - Legendary Mexican league side Club America used a goal by forward Djalma Feitoza to register a 1-0 win over first division rivals Pachuca in an exhibition contest in front of a spirited crowd of 34,444 at Soldier Field Saturday night. The Mexican league friendly, which was part of the Chicago Fire's annual Budweiser Hispanic Heritage Night, was the second match of a soccer doubleheader on the Lakefront that began with a 3-1 Fire victory over D.C. United.
Despite a lack of scoring chances in the first half, the stanza did provide some excitement, with the physical play from both sides causing all 11 players on both America and Pachuca to converge for some pushing and shoving on three separate occasions. The match's lone goal came in the 51st minute when the Brazilian Feitoza repossessed a ball from a Pachuca defender inside the penalty area and lost two "Tuzos" defenders before launching a shot from 12 yards into the upper right corner of the goal past Pachuca 'keeper Edgar Hernandez.
