The Clean Sheet: Truth be told

as it is not included in the regular sports package.

TCS SAYS: Sit this one out and send a message -- put it on the sports tier, don't make us pay extra for it.

THE NEWS: This just in: Landon Donovan is still tearing it up with the national team.

TCS SAYS: Now, when the dog days hit this summer, Landon, pick the Galaxy up on your back and carry them to elite status. Look like you really, truly care about lighting up MLS every match -- and go out and do it. A combination of dominating MLS consistently and continuing to star on the world stage is the only way you can finally shut your naysayers up.

THE NEWS: E-mails still come in from time to time about how moving to a single table would be the best thing for MLS.

TCS SAYS: The next time you are about to hit the old send button on that email, hit the delete instead. I don't care. There you have it. Whether or not MLS goes to a single table will do absolutely nothing to improve or worsen the product. How would a single table help? It won't. The argument makes no sense, unless there were relegation and promotion between MLS and a lower division. And if you think that is a reality anytime soon ... well, you probably think Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are truly in love.

GRAB A COLD BUD (OR AQUAFINA) AND PUT YER FEET UP:
WHAT I'LL BE WATCHING:

Saturday - RAPIDS at CREW (4 p.m. ET on The Deuce): To boost ratings for this one, a strange side bet has been placed: The losing team gets Jeff Cunningham.

Saturday - U-20s: USA vs. ARGENTINA (11:30 a.m. ET on Fox Soccer Channel): If Sigi Schmid takes this team on a good run, don't be surprised to see him back in MLS before the end of the season. However, the schedulers didn't do him any favors with this opening contest.

Sunday - FC DALLAS at FIRE (7 p.m. ET on Direct Kick): Eddie Johnson? We don't need no stinking Eddie Johnson.
