Chivas USA and American Red Cross to launch 'It's in Your Blood' campaign

CARSON, Calif. - Chivas USA and the American Red Cross will hold a special news conference tomorrow Wednesday, March 8 at 12:00 noon PT at the Red Cross Center in East Los Angeles to announce a joint campaign entitled 'Está en Tu Sangre' ('It's in Your Blood'), aimed at encouraging soccer fans to donate life-saving blood on a regular basis, while educating the general public about blood shortages.


This unique joint initiative kicks off Wednesday in East Los Angeles with the first of three major blood drives throughout the Greater Los Angeles area. All persons who donate blood during tomorrow's drive from 12 noon - 7:00 p.m. PT will receive a voucher for a Chivas USA home game, sponsored by LA Care Health Plan.


On hand for Wednesday's press conference will be representatives of Chivas USA, the American Red Cross and LA Health Care Plan, as well as Chivas USA players Francisco Gómez and Rodrigo López. Media will also be able to see a sneak preview of a special PSA (Public Service Announcement) featuring Chivas USA forward Francisco 'Paco' Palencia that was filmed last week at The Home Depot Center in Carson.
