Chivas USA 3, MetroStars 3 -- quote sheet

CHIVAS USA 3, METROSTARS 3

METROSTARS HEAD COACH BOB BRADLEY

On the game:
"It's good to see the them still fighting, that is always a positive. I have seen this with this group, but nonetheless, we lost our discipline for a period in the first half and that is something that cannot happen. That ultimately cost us those two points. I felt like there were enough chances for us to get three points."

On Djorkaeff as captain:
"It was more Youri being captain the last time we won. Sometimes it is like wearing a red tie, you look for any little gimmick to find some luck."

On the comeback:
"It takes a lot of work to come back from two goals. I thought we had some good chances. At the end you are looking for a miracle and we got one."

METROSTARS MIDFIELDER AMADO GUEVARA

On his third goal:
"I tried to move away and nobody could tell that I was there, so I called to Youri to give it to me. It was a beautiful ball (from Youri) and I put it where I wanted to put it."

On the point:
"We wanted a win in the beginning, but we will take one point out of this."

METROSTARS MIDFIELDER YOURI DJORKAEFF

On Amado Guevara:
"It was the right moment and the right play had to be there and what a show by Amado tonight and what a show the team threw."

On Amado's third goal:
"I wanted to shoot at the beginning and after I saw Amado was in a good position to shoot and I gave him the ball."

On playing against Real Madrid:
"It should be a good game. I am happy to play with the American [representatives] and am happy to play against a team in Europe and it is good for American soccer."

On the point:
"At the end it could be zero points, but at the end we put our hearts into it and we came out of it with one good point."

CHIVAS USA HEAD COACH HANS WESTERHOF

Overall thoughts on game:
"In the first half we scored beautiful goals, but we have problems in our organization and defense. The second half was all (MetroStars)."

On the new players:
"Everyone can see they are good players. They scored all three goals, and they were beautiful goals. So I am satisfied about them."

On the team's playoff hopes:
"We believe in it until the last moment."

CHIVAS USA FORWARD JUAN FRANCISCO PALENCIA

On the game:
"The game was an intense game. They played better than us in the midfield and had a lot more possession on the ball."

On the level of play in MLS:
"It's an intense league physically. It's very similar to Europe. I think they have a lot of skillful players."

On his debut performance:
"For me and for the team it was a result that was good, but it doesn't feel like a positive result. I think that we should've gotten a win as we were winning in the first half. In the second half we didn't function as well as we could have. They were superior to us in ball possession, but I think things started off well. This is proof that I want to come here and play hard and to play well, to contribute to do good things so the team wins."

On the MetroStars:
"They play good soccer. They try to make give-and-gos, defense. There are teams that I've seen that I don't like their play so much, but I think the MetroStars are a team that has players who can make a difference in the game, can be creative in the game."

CHIVAS USA MIDFIELDER ORLANDO PEREZ

On the game:
"Palencia and Juan Pablo gave us a big lift up front. I think overall the team did well. I think the team is going in the right direction."
