Carlos Ruiz and Oscar Pareja to miss Saturday's game at San Jose because of injury

DALLAS, Texas - FC Dallas forward Carlos Ruiz will miss Saturday night's game at San Jose after suffering a right hamstring strain on September 17 during a training session at Pizza Hut Park. The injury has sidelined Ruiz from the Hoops last two regular season matches; on September 18 against Real Salt Lake and last night against the Los Angeles Galaxy. The Guatemalan striker had an MRI on Tuesday and that further revealed the extent of the muscle strain. Ruiz will be evaluated on a game-to-game basis with his availability being determined based upon the improvement in the strained muscle.

Midfielder Oscar Pareja will also miss Saturday's game with the Earthquakes because of a back injury.

However, both Pareja and Ruiz are expected to join the rest of their FC Dallas teammates in Los Angeles on Monday in preparation for the 2005 U.S. Open Cup Final on Wednesday night at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. against the Los Angeles Galaxy. Their availability for this match, as well as Saturday's league match against the Galaxy, will be determined by the training staff on the day of the game.

FC Dallas will be back in action on Saturday night when they visit San Jose at Spartan Stadium. This game will be televised live on KLDT TV 55 at 9:00 p.m. Tickets for all FC Dallas home games are on sale now. Call 1-888-FCD-GOAL or visit www.fcdallas.net for tickets or more information.
