Burn host Hispanic Heritage Night Aug. 28

DALLAS - The Dallas Burn will host the annual Budweiser Hispanic Heritage Night, presented by Fiesta, Procter & Gamble, 107.1 FM Super Estrella and 104.9 FM El Gato, at the Cotton Bowl on Saturday, August 28 in conjunction with their match that evening vs. the Chicago Fire.


        Budweiser Hispanic Heritage Night will recognize and celebrate the pride and passion for the world's most popular sport, which is deeply embedded in the Hispanic heritage and in the Hispanic community in the Metroplex.  


The evening will include a pre- and post-game festival outside of the Cotton Bowl which will include music, dancing, a variety of ethnic food vendors, interactive sponsor booths and other entertainment. The festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. featuring the local band "Candela Show" on the Nimitz Plaza on the Gate 7 side of the stadium. Immediately following the Burn/Fire match, which kicks off at 7:30 p.m., the sensational and very popular Cumbia band "Tropicalismo Apache" will perform on Nimitz Plaza until approximately 11:00 p.m.


At halftime of the match, the Burn will recognize ten of the top leaders that have contributed to the empowerment of the Hispanic community within their respective fields. Additionally, the Burn and Budweiser will present a check in the amount of $10,000 to the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, an educational endowment which assists Hispanic students finance their education.


Hispanic Heritage Night is an event that is being celebrated at all MLS venues around the country throughout the soccer season. The program is a fully integrated national MLS marketing initiative targeted toward the growing Hispanic community.
