Bridgeview Stadium update: Steel erection underway

CHICAGO - The Chicago Fire has announced that the next phase in the construction process is underway for the club's future permanent stadium in Bridgeview, IL. Present construction activities include the erection of structural steel for the east building, which will house suites, club seats, locker rooms and the team's administrative offices. Underground plumbing for the east building is also underway.

Concrete foundations continue to be poured for the west buildings that include concessions and broadcast facilities. Grading activity for on-site parking and the loading dock has begun, and the field level wall on the east side is 90% complete.

Riser work on the west berm (seating area) is on schedule to begin the week of June 13, while the west and north field level wall is projected to start the week of June 20. More of the stadium is also taking shape, including the traditional players' entrance at midfield.
