Brian Ching makes Houston 1836 proud in match against Guatemala

DALLAS, TX - Despite freezing conditions in Frisco, Texas, the United States men's national team defeated Guatemala 4-0 at Pizza Hut Park in an international friendly.

The U.S. National team faced their CONCACAF rival as they continue to prepare, under Head Coach Bruce Arena, for this summer's World Cup in Germany.

Houston 1836 forward, Brian Ching, once again gave it all in the field; scoring the second goal in the 45th to send the U.S. into the break with a two-goal lead in the first half.

"I thought it was a good performance today by our team," said Bruce Arena, who upped the USA's unbeaten streak in Texas to 12 matches. "Obviously, the conditions weren't perfect but I thought the field was great. It's a terrific facility here to play in. I think the Guatemalan team gave us a really good game. They were tough to break down and they defended well in the early going. We had some goal-scoring opportunities that we failed on early in the game and we struggled a bit."

"The first goal by Ben Olsen was a terrific individual effort as well as a big goal psychologically in the game. Certainly, the second goal by Ching right at the end of the half basically put the game away."

"I think I played well today and you know it's up to him," said Ching. "All I can do is go out there and do the best I can every time I get out there, and I did that today", said Ching, Houston 1836 forward.
