Behind the badge: Bicoastal Blackout

As if there were any question that D.C. United have great fans after Saturday's Eastern Conference Final, this weekend will certainly answer it. There will be a Blackout in effect on both coasts. Several hundred D.C.-based fans, along with the D.C. United front office staff, will be in attendance at The Home Depot Center, cheering on the Black-and-Red.

As reported here on Monday, the Screaming Eagles organized a road trip to MLS Cup in advance of D.C. United's qualification, with many additional fans organizing their own travel plans starting Saturday night.

Fans who, for whatever reason, could not make it to cheer for D.C. United in person can still join in large numbers to back the Black-and-Red. The Screaming Eagles have also arranged for a local watch party at Bailey's Smokehouse and Tavern near the Ballston Mall. Pregame festivities start at 2 p.m. ET, with kick-off at 3:30 p.m. ET. Join other fans of the Black-and-Red as they turn the Burgundy Room black, cheering United on in their quest for a fourth MLS Cup.

Bailey's is located at 4233 Wilson Blvd. in Arlington, easily accessible by the Metro (Orange Line - Ballston) or just off I-66 at exit 71. For more information, call Bailey's Smokehouse at 703-465-1300.

If you can't make it to Los Angeles or to Bailey's, you can still catch the game live at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC. Join J.P. Dellacamera, Eric Wynalda, Lorrie Fair and Rob Stone as they bring you all the action.

Making the rounds

Although he's no stranger to the talk show circuit, Freddy Adu's appearances have largely been limited to shows in New York. On Friday, he'll make his first appearance from the West Coast, as he is one of the guests on the Ellen DeGeneres show.

The show, taped Thursday after D.C. United's training session at The Home Depot Center, features Adu, Teri Hatcher and musical guests Maroon 5. In the Washington, D.C. area, the show will air on WRC-TV (Ch. 4) at 11 a.m. For other areas, check your local listings.
