MLS Experience

2009: After impressing club officials during United’s U.S. Open Cup quarterfinal match, while playing for USL-2’s Harrisburg City Islanders, Shipalane signed with the Black-and-Red in August. While he did not see action in League play, Shipalane made his presence felt in every match he entered. The South Africa native appeared in three CONCACAF Champions League games, making his only start for the club in a 3-0 win over CD Marathon on 9/24.

Other Experience

2009: The USL-2 Rookie of the Year for the Harrisburg City Islanders, Shipalane racked up six goals and six assists during his sole season with Harrisburg.

2008: The midfielder led the Michigan Bucks to the PDL regular season title. He scored five goals and tallied three assists in 14 appearances.

2007: The midfielder finished the 2007 season with three goals and five assists in 16 games. Shipalane led the Michigan Bucks to PDL Championship, losing in the final.

2006: Playing in 15 games for the Michigan Bucks (PDL), Shipalane scored two goals and recorded an assist in 777 minutes of play. Shipalane helped the Bucks capture the North American PDL Championship by scoring the game-winning goal in the title game.
College Experience

2007: To cap off his college years, Shipalane finished his senior year with six goals and five assists throughout his 22 appearances. He was named to the First Team All-Mid South Conference and Second Team All-America.

2006: During his junior year, Shipalane started 20 of 21 games, scoring 11 goals and collecting seven assists while being named NAIA Region XI Player of the Year and to the NAIA All-American Third Team and All-Mid South Conference First Team.

2005: In his sophomore season, Shipalane played in 24 games (11 starts), accumulating five goals and ten assists. The South African native was key in Lindsey Wilson’s NAIA National Championship game, scoring the first goal in the Blue Raiders’ 4-1 win. He was named to the First Team All-Mid South Conference, All NAIA Region XI and Honorable Mention All-American in the NAIA.

2004: During his freshman season at Lindsey Wilson, the midfielder scored four goals and added two assists playing in 24 games (11 starts).
