CURRENT CLUB: Everton (England)
Tim Howard is the US Men's National Team No. 1 goalkeeper and has been since 2007. He recently signed an extension with his club side, Everton, keeping on Merseyside until 2018.
US NATIONAL TEAM
Howard registered his first cap in 2002 and served as a backup to Kasey Keller at the 2006 World Cup. In 2007 he was named the team's first choice goalkeeper and was the starter for the 2009 Confederations Cup and 2010 World Cup.
After starting with a lower league side in his native New Jersey, Howard was signed by the New York/New Jersey MetroStars in 1998. By 2001 he was the full time starter for the club and impressed enough over the next three seasons to be signed by English side Manchester United. In 2003-04 he appeared in 32 games for the Red Devils, winning an FA Cup, but by the next season he had fallen out of favor with manager Alex Ferguson. Prior to the 2006-07 season he was loaned out to Everton and has been the Toffees No. 1 goalkeeper ever since.
