Career Summary

Goalkeeper Thorne Holder originally signed with the Union on March 1, 2011 after trialing with the club in preseason. After being waived on July 26, Holder was re-acquired from F.C. New York on August 22.

Prior to joining the Union, Holder played for Adelphi University, and also spent time at the University of Maryland under goalkeeper coach Rob Vartughian. The 24-year old ranks second on Adelphia’s career shutout list (19) and fourth on the career wins list with 30. Ranked in the top 23 in the nation in GAA in 2009 and 2010, the Trinidadian goalkeeper was named First-Team All-ASC and Co-Defensive MVP of the ASC Tournament, as well as to the NSCAA North Atlantic Second-Team in 2010.

2010: Played in 18 games and made 16 starts...recorded 58 saves in 1632:17 minutes in net...allowed 14 goals for a 0.77 goals against average...posted an .806 save percentage with an 9-6-2 record and eight shutouts...stopped a season-best eight shots in a 4-0 win over VMI on 9/17...his goals against average ranked 23rd in the nation. 

2009: Started in 12 of the 15 games he played in...stopped 52 shots in 1203:56 minutes of net...only let up 10 goals and posted a 9-1-3 record...had an .893 save percentage and a 0.70 goals against average...his goals against average ranked 17th in the nation and his save percentage was 20th in the nation.

2008: Appeared in 14 games, starting in 12...totaled 1234:46 minutes making 51 saves...posted a 12-2 record...recorded a 0.66 GAA and a .850 save percentage.

Keeper for the U-20 Trinidad & Tobago CONCACAF qualifying team in 2005... starting keeper for the U-23 Olympic pool... played four seasons for Queens Royal College Intercol...served as captain in 2003 when QRC won the North Zone Intercol title, the first title in the team's last nine seasons...led the league in goals against with seven shutouts in 17 matches...named to the all-star team ... played for the San Juan Jabloteh U-20 in 2004 and was recognized as the league's top keeper...served as vice captain for the U-20 team which advanced to the final qualifying round in the world youth championship...also served as a goalkeeper coach at La Foucade Soccer Clinic, the most recognized clinic in Trinidad, for the past three years.
