Schneider joins the Red Bulls from the Ivy League’s Princeton Tigers after a career that saw him play both in the midfield and on defense. Playing mostly as a defender during his final two seasons in college, Schneider helped lead a strong defensive squad that paced the Tigers to a finish at the top of the Ivy League. He will provide depth in the back for the coaching staff in 2011.

Played in 69 games, starting 65, during his four-year career at Princeton, registering seven goals and eight assists. Schneider was named to the Princeton Invitational All-Tournament Team during his junior and senior seasons for the Tigers. During his senior year of 2010, Schneider was named to the All-Ivy League Second Team after helping Princeton go 7-0 in conference games. Schneider was captain of his Player Development Academy team, Vieira.


Son of Dave and Sue. Has two sisters Rebecca and Kristen. Was a Sociology Major at Princeton. His hobbies include playing golf and snowboard. If he wasn’t playing soccer, he’d like to work in finance. Favorite soccer player is Ryan Giggs. Big Yankees and Manchester United fan. Played at club level for PDA in New Jersey.
