Sokratis Papastathopoulos

Sokratis Papastathopoulos is a veteran defender who has made more than 25 appearances with German powerhouse Borussia Dortmund in 2013-14. He has registered over 45 caps for the Greek national team.

GREEK NATIONAL TEAM

Papastathopoulos appeared in 11 of Greek's 12 qualifiers in this cycle. He played against Nigeria and Argentina at the 2010 World Cup.

CLUB CAREER:

After starting his career with AEK Athens, Sokratis moved to Genoa in 2008 and appeared in 51 games for the club over two Serie A seasons. After an unsuccessful season with AC Milan he moved to Germany to play for Werder Bremen. He spent two seasons with the club before joining Borussia Dortmund prior to the 2013-14 season.
