A midseason signing for the Fire in 2012, Sherjill MacDonald helped the Fire return to the MLS Playoffs for the first time in three seasons. A strong, powerful forward with tremendous ability to play with his back towards the goal, the former Dutch youth international added a physical presence to the Fire’s front line, scoring four goals and tallying four assists. The striker will once again pair up with returning leading scorer Chris Rolfe as the duo leads the Fire attack this season.     

2012: Appeared in 14 matches starting in 12, scoring four goals and tallying four assists… Made his Fire debut when he entered the match in the 64th minute in a 1-1 draw at SJ 7/28…Tallied an assist in his first start, assisting on Chris Rolfe’s equalizer in the 43rd minute of a 3-1 victory at PHI 8/12…Opened his goal scoring account with the game-winner in the 78th minute of a 2-1 victory against NE 8/18…Assisted on Daniel Paladini’s 44th minute goal in a 4-2 loss at DC 8/22…Scored in the 34th minute in a 3-1 victory against MON 9/15…Registered his third assist on Rolfe’s 23rd minute equalizer in a 2-1 win over CLB 9/22…Scored a brace in a 2-0 victory at NY 10/6…Assisted on Patrick Nyarko’s goal in a 1-1 draw vs. DC 10/27…MLS CUP PLAYOFFS: Played the full 90 minutes of the Fire’s 2-1 loss to HOU in the Eastern Conference Knockout Match 10/31…INTERNATIONAL FREINDLIES: Played the first half of the Fire’ 2-2 draw against Club Santos Laguna 9/8.

Abroad: Joined Belgian Pro League side Germinal Beerschot in 2009 making 82 appearances over three seasons, scoring 15 goals… In 2009 West Bromwich Albion sent him on loan to Belgian Pro League side K.S.V Roeselare where he appeared in 16 matches scoring six goals… In his first full season with West Bromwich Albion he was sent on loan to English third division side Hereford United putting up an impressive six goals in seven matches… West Bromwich Albion signed him in 2008 after his loan was up; he would go on to make five first team appearances in two seasons… In 2007 AGOVV loaned him to English side West Bromwich Albion for a full season where he made 18 appearances… Signed with Netherlands side AGOVV in 2006 making 24 appearances and scoring 11 goals in three seasons with the team… In his fifth season with Anderlecht he was sent on loan to Hamburger SV ll making 22 appearances and scoring four times… in 2004, Anderlecht sent him on loan to Netherlands side Hercles Almelo scoring four goals in 17 appearances with the club....
