Rincón, a young playmaker, came up through the youth system of Colombian side Deportivo Cali and played youth club soccer in the United States before starting his professional career in 2010 at the age of 16, playing with the reserve team of Colombian club Independiente Santa Fe.
2012:Appeared in nine matches (six starts) for the Timbers Reserves in the MLS Reserve League, logging one goal in 527 minutes of action ... Played the full 90 in four of his six starts for the Timbers Reserves, including the season finale, a 3-2 win over Seattle Sounders FC Reserves on Sept. 16 ... Scored in a 2-2 draw against the Chivas USA Reserves on June 18 ... Played with the first team in a friendly against EPL side Aston Villa FC, scoring the initial equalizer in the 76th minute of a 2-2 draw ... Also converted his penalty kick in the tiebreaker shootout, which AVFC won 5-4 ... Was included in the match-day roster for the regular-season finale against San Jose on Oct. 27, a friendly against Spanish club Valencia CF on May 23 and a U.S. Open Cup match May 30.
CAREER: Started his professional career as a teenager in 2010 … Played for the reserve side of Colombian first-division club Independiente Santa Fe and trained with the first team, which featured current Timbers teammate Jose Adolfo Valencia.
YOUTH: Played in the youth system of top-flight Colombian club Deportivo Cali for two years (2004-06), starting when he was 10 … Moved to Miami, Fla., and played at youth club Weston Fury … Scored two goals in the final to help Weston’s U-13 side win the Florida state title in 2007 … Was selected to participate in the Super Y-League National ODP Camp on Nov. 8, 2007, as one of the top youth players in the United States … In 2008, was part of the Weston U-15 squad that captured the title at the Disney Soccer Showcase, defeating the Greensboro Youth Soccer 93 Dynamo 2-1 … Helped the Weston U-15 boys claim the KELME Cup in Naples, Fla., in January 2009.
PERSONAL: Full name is Sebastián Rincón Lucumí … Is the son of recognized Colombian soccer player Freddy Rincón, who played in three FIFA World Cups for the Colombian National Team … During his playing career, Sebastián’s father also played for Santa Fe.
