HOW ACQUIRED: Dallas selected Hollingshead with the 20th (2nd round) overall pick in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft.
A versatile, technical, attack-minded player who made FCD's left back spot his own in 2015 after Oscar Pareja converted him from a midfield role. A college star at UCLA who earned All-American and Pac-12 Player of the Year honors in 2012, Hollingshead elected to step away from the sport for a year after Dallas selected him in the second round (20th pick overall) of the 2013 MLS SuperDraft, doing missionary work in Haiti and fulfilling a promise to his brother Scott to help him build a church in their native Sacramento. He returned to soccer and signed with FCD in December of that year, and appeared in 11 MLS matches in 2014. Hollingshead is the second-youngest of four brothers; his older brother Scott also played soccer at UCLA.
