2006: Voted Major League Soccer's Comeback Player of the Year after fully recovering from a right torn ACL, which caused him to miss the majority of the 2005 season … Played 25 games for FC Dallas, 23 of which were starts, tallying one goal and nine assists in 2,075 minutes of action … Selected to the 2006 MLS All-Star Game as a Commissioner's Pick.

2005: Scored a goal in the second minute of his first game with FC Dallas, a 2-1 win vs. CHI on 4/2 … Started the first seven games but suffered a torn right ACL in the 34th minute at SJ on 5/14, causing him to miss the remainder of the season.

2004: Was the only member of the Earthquakes to play every minute of every match in the 2004 regular season … Selected to the MLS All-Star Game for the second time in his career, notching an assist in the match.

2003: His well-placed strike in the 50th minute of the 2003 MLS Cup final, off of an assist from college teammate Brian Mullan, proved to be the game-winner as San Jose won its second MLS title in three years … Became Earthquakes' all-time leader in games played with 133 after starting and playing the full 100 minutes on 10/25 vs. LA.

2002: Was named an MLS All-Star for the first time … Fractured right ankle on 9/14 at LA and missed the remainder of the season.

2001: Made MLS playoff debut on 9/22 at CLB, playing 90 minutes … Recorded assist on Landon Donovan's tying goal in MLS Cup final on 10/21 vs. LA at Crew Stadium.

2000: Voted the Earthquakes MVP … Led team in assists (nine) and matches started (29) … Started at five different positions: right, left and defensive midfield and right and left back … Missed only one match (7/22 vs. NE) after suffering separated left shoulder vs. Colorado on 7/15.

1999: Was an MLS Rookie of the Year finalist and was only San Jose player (and the only MLS rookie) to appear in all 32 matches … Scored first professional goal as substitute at CHI on 7/23 on a stunning 30-yard shot in the 81st minute … Recorded first-ever assist at Miami on 6/26.

 

International

United States international (14 caps) … 2004: Started in 1-1 tie vs. Denmark on 1/18 … Appeared as a substitute in 1-1 tie vs. Haiti on 3/13 … 2003: Had his busiest year ever with the national team, playing in eight matches and playing on the CONCACAF Gold Cup squad that finished third … 2002: Named an alternate for the 2002 FIFA World Cup in Korea and Japan … 2001: Earned first cap on 12/9 in 1-0 loss to South Korea in Seogwipo, Korea, entering as a sub in 68th minute … Youth: Made the U.S. U-20 national team before his senior year of high school but broke his leg and was unable to see action with the team.
