Amarikwa is a physically gifted forward who may doesn't always light up the stat sheet, but will contribute in other ways and wreak havoc on opposing defenses. Despite standing at just 5'9", he fulfills many of the functions of a traditional target man, using has strength and balance to hold up the ball while drawing defenders to him and opening up space for his fellow attackers. He has played his entire career in MLS, starting with the Earthquakes in 2009. Amarikwa was traded the Colorado Rapids in 2010 and was a part of their MLS Cup-winning squad in that year. He joined Toronto FC in 2012 before going on a two-and-a-half year run with the Chicago Fire.

College: Appeared in 77 games and scored 31 goals in four years with UC Davis. As a senior in 2008, led team to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history. Finished as the conference leader in goals scored (15) and was second in points (31). Earned second-team All-America and first-team All-Far West Region accolades from the NSCAA.
