Verhaegh is a product of PSV's academy but failed to make an impression with the club. After stints with AGOOV, Den Bosch, and Vitesse he signed with Augsburg in 2010. He helped the club earn promotion to the Bundesliga during the 2010-11 season and made 30 appearances in the Bundesliga this past season.
