Jiménez became a regular member of El Tri after he was part of the squad that won the Gold medal at the 2012 Olympics. He has registered over 20 caps for his national team.
Jiménez made his debut for Club América in 2010 and has made over 80 appearances for the club since. He thrived under current El Tri manager Miguel Herrera scoring 14 goals in 2012-13.
