Miguel Layún is a talented fullback who is known for having the ability to score long range goals.
MEXICAN NATIONAL TEAM
Layún did not make his senior national team debut until last year's Gold Cup but has already registered over 10 caps. Given his experience under coach Miguel Herrera, expect Layún to get significant playing time in the World Cup.
In 2009 Layún became the first Mexican to ever appear in Serie A, playing for Atalanta. However, after an unsuccessful season with the club, Layún returned to Liga MX with Club América in 2010. In 2013 he was part of the squad that won the Clausura Tournament.
