Jesús Corona is one of Mexico’s top goalkeepers and has been one of the top goalkeepers in Liga MX for a decade.
MEXICAN NATIONAL TEAM
Corona made his debut with El Tri in 2005 and was the second choice goalkeeper for Mexico in the 2006 World Cup. After sporadic appearances throughout the next six years Corona was the captain of Mexico’s Gold Medal winning squad in the 2012 Olympics. He was Mexico’s main goalkeeper throughout World Cup qualifying.
After starting his career with Atlas, Corona moved to Estudiantes Teco in 2004 and spent five years with the club. In 2009 Cruz Azul acquired him and he has been the starting goalkeeper for La Maquina ever since.
