Attacker Marcos Mondaini joined Chivas USA in preseason of 2011, bringing his experience in several South American leagues as a wide midfielder and a forward. Mondaini came through the youth system of Boca Juniors, one of the top clubs in Argentina and worldwide, and has made a total of five appearances for the club.
The native of Sáenz Peña, Argentina has spent several seasons on loan with clubs throughout South America, scoring 13 goals in 41 appearances with Ecuadorian side Emelec in 2006, before joining Barcelona SC of Ecuador in 2008, and Uruguay’s Nacional in 2009. Most recently, Mondaini was with Atlético Nacional in Colombia, where he scored four goals in 26 appearances. He is the first Argentine player to suit up for Chivas USA.
