How Acquired: Drafted in the third round (24th overall) of the 2003 MLS SuperDraft

Logan Pause enters his 12th MLS season as the longest tenured member of the Chicago Fire. Having spent his entire professional career in Chicago, the University of North Carolina product has been a constant contributor to the club since first coming on the scene in 2003. Versatility has been one of the Hillsborough, N.C. native’s greatest attributes as he has shown his worth both at his familiar defensive midfield position and as a dependable right back during his career.

2013: Appeared in 15 matches, started in 11 for 904 minutes. LAMAR HUNT U.S. OPEN CUP: Started two matches in Open Cup play, a 2-0 win at Charlotte 5/29 and a 2-1 win over CLB 6/13.

2012: Appeared in 32 matches, started in 31 for 2424 minutes…Scored in a 1-1 draw with HOU 4/15…Suffered two broken ribs and pneumothorax in a collision at PHI on 8/15, missed just two games and returned when he entered the match in the 85th minute against HOU 9/2…Recorded his 250th MLS Regular Season appearance at PHI 8/12…Made his 300th competitive appearance for the Fire just weeks later on 10/3 against the Union 10/3. …Was named the 2012 MLS Xbox Individual Fair Play award for committing only 11 fouls and receiving no red or yellow cards all season… PLAYOFFS: Started and played the first half of the Fire’s 2-1 loss to HOU in the Eastern Conference Knockout Match 10/31… LAMAR HUNT U.S. OPEN CUP: Did not appear in a 2012 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup match…INTERNATIONAL FRIENDLIES: Started and played the first half of a 2-2 draw with Mexican side Club Santos Laguna 9/8.

2011: In his first year as Chicago Fire captain Pause hit a career high for appearances, playing in 29 matches, starting 28 over 2514 minutes…Moved into second place on the club’s all-time regular season appearance list in a 2-2 draw at NY on 8/13, passing up Jesse Marsch (200), Chris Armas (214) and Zach Thornton (215) to finish the season with 227 career games played…LAMAR HUNT U.S. OPEN CUP: Started 5 matches across qualifying and tournament play, logging 480 minutes in the club’s run to the 2011 U.S. Open Cup Final…INTERNATIONAL FRIENDLIES: Started, playing the first 45 minutes of both games vs. Manchester United on 7/23 and Chivas de Guadalajara on September 14.
