Kyle Nakazawa joined Philadelphia Union from UCLA as the 33rd overall pick in the 2010 MLS SuperDraft. 

A set piece specialist, Nakazawa's service creates scoring opportunities on a regular basis. The young midfielder is a fearless competitor with strong ball-winning skills, proficient at jumpstarting the counter attack.

Nakazawa was a distinguished college star as a 2009 semifinalist for the M.A.C. Hermann Trophy, First-team NSCAA All-American and All-Far West, First-team All-Pac-10 and honorable mention Pac-10 All-Academic honoree. Nakazawa finished the 2009 NCAA season leading the Pac-10 in points (31), and ranked second in goals scored (12) and points per game (1.55).

The midfielder also featured in the U.S. Under-20 National Team pool and was a member of the U.S. U-17 residency program. Nakazawa was a starter on the U-17 Team that placed fifth at the FIFA World Youth Championships in 2005, where he scored two goals with one assist in four games at the WYC. Nakazawa led all U-17 players in 2005 in assists (13) and games started (37 of 38), ranking fourth with 10 goals.

2010: Acquired by Philadelphia Union via the 2010 MLS SuperDraft with the 33rd overall selection ... Made professional debut on May 1 at LA Galaxy … Recorded first career start on May 8 at Real Salt Lake. 

2009: Semifinalist for the M.A.C. Hermann Trophy ... First-team NSCAA All-American and All-Far West ... First-team All-Pac-10 and honorable mention Pac-10 All-Academic honoree ... Finished the season leading the Pac-10 in points (31), and ranked second in goals scored (12) and points per game (1.55) ... Provided the bulk of the scoring for UCLA, recording a goal or assist (12 goals, 7 assists total) on 61% of the Bruin goals during the season ... named the Pac-10 Player of the Week in consecutive weeks (Sept. 27, Oct. 4), becoming only the second player in conference history to do so ... 2008: Had his season cut short due to a back injury ... Played in just 10 games, with six starts ... Played in the first five games of the year and then sat out nearly a month before returning for five Conference games from Oct. 10-26, during which the Bruins went 4-1 in the games in which he played ... Was effective when he was on the pitch, scoring a goal with four assists ... Scored his only goal of the year in a 3-0 win over Oregon State ... Had a two-assist game in a 3-0 win over UC Riverside ... Honorable mention Pac-10 All-Academic selection ... Named to the M.A.C. Hermann Trophy Watch List. 

2007: UCLA's Team MVP ... Second-team All-Pac-10 selection ... Starter in all 21 games ... Led the Pac-10 with seven assists ... Ranked second on the UCLA squad in scoring with 13 points and tied for third with three goals ... Scored the game-winning goal in the NCAA first round on a bending free kick around New Mexico's wall after being fouled just outside the box in the 89th minute ... Also scored a dramatic goal at Washington with the game-winner in the final 53 seconds of regulation and added an assist as well ... Netted UCLA's only goal in a 1-1 tie against San Diego State in the regular season finale ... Had a pair of two-assist games against Ohio State and Penn State ... Assisted on the game-winner in the 88th minute against Cal. 

2006: Selected to the Soccer America and Top Drawer Soccer All-Freshman first teams and to College Soccer News' All-Freshman second team ... Honorable mention All-Pac-10 honoree ... One of three players to start in all 24 games for UCLA ... Ranked second on the team with eight assists and was fourth in scoring with 16 points ... Scored four goals, including two in the last six games after being moved to the forward position ... Had second-half goals against San Diego and Harvard ...
