Hartman is one of the most decorated players in Major League Soccer history and is the only player in MLS history to play and start over 400 regular season matches. He's also the holder of the all-time record for shutouts with 112.
How Acquired: Kevin Hartman signed as a free agent with the Red Bulls on Mar. 22, 2013.
2010 - 2012: Helped FC Dallas reach MLS Cup in his first season with the club, but was unable to capture his third MLS Cup title after falling to the Colorado Rapids, 2-1. In 2011 Hartman tied RSL goalkeeper Nick Rimando for the league lead with 13 shutouts, including the 100th shutout of his career against the New England Revolution on June 4.
2007 - 2009: After joining ranks with the Kansas City Wizards, Hartman started in all 30 matches for three consecutive seasons and broke the tie with Tony Meola for the MLS all-time shutouts record.
1997 - 2006: Hartman spent the first 10 seasons of his career with the LA Galaxy, where there was certainly no shortage of accolades. After Hartman was drafted in the third round of the 1997 College Draft, he went on to earn a shutout in his first career start against the Columbus Crew. During the 1998 season, he led the league in wins (22), and followed up that display in 1999 by being named Goalkeeper of the Year after two consecutive seasons of 20+ wins (making him the first MLS goalkeeper to do so). He was named the Galaxy's MVP in 2003 and 2004, and allowed only two goals in four games in 2005 to help backstop the Galaxy to its second MLS Cup title. Hartman amassed 243 appearances for the LA Galaxy, including 116 wins and two MLS Cup titles.
Hartman made his first appearance for USA against Jamaica in a 2-2 tie on 9/8/00, allowing one goal in 45 minutes. Called into US national team camp in early Jan. 2006 and made first career start for the US in a 5-0 drubbing of Norway. Had five caps as of 12/21/10.
Played college soccer at both UCLA (1992-1993) and California State Dominguez Hills (1995-1996).
Played for San Pedro FC Santos, coached by Joe Flanagan in San Pedro, California.
