Midfielder J.T. Noone joined the Union as the club's first local product. A Temple University alum, Noone hails from Harrisburg, Pa. Noone trained with the Union for six months prior to his signing, playing the second half of Philadelphia's friendly with Celtic FC on July 14 and splitting time halves with the Union and City Islanders in a friendly between the two clubs. Noone is a prime example of why the Union entered into an affiliate club partnership with USL-2 side the Harrisburg City Islanders. The relationship allows the Union to loan players to Harrisburg on a game-by-game basis for increased playing time.
With the Temple Owls, Noone was named to the ESPN Magazine Men's Soccer Academic All-District 2 University Division Second Team as a sophomore, and became the first Owl in 22 years to earn All-America honors with his selection to the NSCAA Second Team All-America squad in 2008. As a junior he was also an NSCAA First Team All-Atlantic Region selection.
Prior to his senior year at Temple, Noone played with the Ocean City Barons of the USL PDL. Noone played in 16 regular season games for Ocean City in 2009 season, scoring three goals and adding three assists.
