Career Summary

CURRENT CLUB: Barcelona (Spain)

Javier Mascherano has been playing at the top levels of Europe for almost a decade. The centerback/defensive midfielder won the UEFA Champions League with Barcelona in 2010-11 and 2014-15. 

ARGENTINIAN NATIONAL TEAM

Mascherano has registered almost 100 caps since making his international debut in 2003. He appeared in a total of nine games over the past two World Cups with Argentina.

CLUB CAREER

Before joining Liverpool in 2007 Mascherano played for River Plate, Corinthians, and West Ham United. He had a successful three and a half seasons with Liverpool before moving on to Barcelona. He has won three La Liga titles and two Champions League title with the club.
