PROFESSIONAL CAREER

2012: Recorded one goal and two assists in 20 games, including 19 starts, registering 1,663 minutes of play in his first MLS season… Appeared once in the Amway Canadian Championship… Started three MLS Reserve League games… Also played in international matches against Bologna FC and ACF Fiorentina during the post season tour in Italy.

2011: Joined the Impact on Feb. 7, 2011, after taking part in the team’s invitational camp in January… Received the Giuseppe Saputo Trophy, awarded to the Impact Most Valuable Player, at the conclusion of the regular season after leading the team with 22 starts in as many games… Also played the second most minutes on the team, with a total of 1,949… Played as a defender and midfielder, registering two goals and one assist for five points… Was selected to the NASL All-Star team … Signed a new contract with the Impact for Major League Soccer on Oct. 11.

2009-2010: Played one game with SC Bastia in France’s Ligue 2.

2008-2009: Played 26 games with SC Bastia, recording three goals and one assist for five points.

2007-2008: Began the season with the Olympique de Marseille before being transferred to SC Bastia, in Ligue 2, in Jan. 2008, where he registered one goal in 12 games with the team… Scored his first goal in the pro ranks on February 22, 2008, on week 25 of the L2 season, against Libourne-Saint-Seurin… Also played in one Coupe de Ligue game.

2006-2007: Was part of French first division club l’Olympique de Marseille, joining the team in July 2006, but only played one cup game, at Montpellier… Mostly played with the OM’s reserve team.

AMATEUR
Previously played from 2003 to 2006 in the CFA (4th division) with the Olympique Noisy-le-Sec Banlieue 93, in the city where this player of Senegalese descent was born… Was recruited by that club in 1995 at 11 years old… Played well in a Coupe de France game against Auxerre… The Glasgow Rangers, Le Mans, Rennes and Marseille all subsequently showed interest in him.
