Career Summary

CURRENT CLUB: Udinese (Italy)

Hassan Yebda was one of France’s best young players and helped the country to an Under-17 world championship in 2001. Although he was never considered for France’s senior team, he was an important piece for Algeria during the 2010 World Cup.

A holding midfielder, Yebda also uses his strength and athletic abilities to his advantage. His offensive abilities are under-rated especially when he pushes the ball forward.

ALGERIAN NATIONAL TEAM

His debut with the Algerian national team came in a 3-1 win over Rwanda during 2010 World Cup qualifying. He started all three games for the Desert Foxes during the 2010 World Cup and was part of the team that went to the semifinal of the 2010 African Cup of Nations.

CLUB CAREER

At the age of 29, Yebda has already played for four different clubs in Europe since he left his native France in 2008. After Le Mans (France), Yebda’s resume also includes stints at Benfica (Portugal), Portsmouth (England), Napoli (Italy) and Granada (Spain).

He currently plays for Serie A club Udinese when he joined them early in 2014.
