Faouzi Ghoulam

Faouzi Ghoulam is a modern left back, combining speed and tactical awareness. He currently plays for Coppa Italia holders, Napoli, under renowned Spanish head coach Rafael Benitez.

ALGERIAN NATIONAL TEAM

After a couple of caps with France's U-21 national team, he chose to represent Algeria at the senior national team level in November 2012. Selected for the 2013 African Cup of Nations, he did not play one minute during the continental tournament.

He became the uncontested starting left back for Algeria when he played 90 minutes in a 3-1 win over Benin in the 2014 World Cup qualifying.

CLUB CAREER

Born and raised in the St. Etienne area of France, Ghoulam bleeds green and appeared in 87 Ligue 1 games in four years for the club. He transferred to Italian giants Napoli on January 2014. Nineteen games later in Serie A, Ghoulam won a Coppa Italia title and became a starter under Benitez.
