2007-10: Played four seasons with BK Häcken and was instrumental in winning the ball and setting-up attacks. Played in the middle and sometimes on the left side. Scored five goals in 94 appearances. Häcken finished eighth in the Allsvenskan, the Swedish first division, after taking fifth the previous season. In 2009, he led the club with seven assists and last season had four. He scored and had assisted in a 4-0 win at Halmstads. Also contributed an assist in key home victory over Orebro last season. In 2008, Friberg’s first season as a starter, Häcken earned promotion after finishing second in Sweden’s second tier, the Superettan.
2005-06: Played with Västra Frölunda’s youth team for two years and then played with senior team for two years. Made his senior team debut in 2005 with Västra Frölunda at age 19. Voted team’s Player of the Year in 2006. His contract was purchased in 2007 by Häcken.
Personal: Father, Peter Friberg, also played as a professional for Häcken. Has one older sister. First signed as a professional at age 16. Played ice hockey and team handball as a youth. In addition to soccer, he enjoys watching ice hockey and basketball games. In his free time, he enjoys socializing with friends and watching movies.
