HOW ACQUIRED:Selected with the first overall pick in the first stage of the 2014 MLS Re-Entry Draft, on December 12, 2014.
Kronberg, 31, spent his entire eight-year MLS career with Sporting Kansas City after being drafted in the 2006 MLS SuperDraft out of the University of California.
After backing up Kansas City’s Jimmy Nielsen for a number of years, Kronberg was given the starting role in 2014, starting all 20 of his appearances. He went 7-8-5 over that span, while earning seven shutouts.
Amongst the league leaders over his first 17 games played, the California native was sidelined for two months with a fractured hand.
In 2013, he allowed two goals in six matches with four shutouts across all competitions, starting all four CONCACAF Champions League group stage matches, leading SKC to first place in the group. In Open Cup play, he started both Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup matches.
Kronberg spent his rookie season in 2006 on loan with Miami FC (USL). He played his first MLS regular season game in 2010.
He also played international friendlies against the likes of Manchester United FC, Newcastle United, Montpellier Herault SC and Stoke City FC.
